“Despite the historical context, this kind of driveway is absolutely gorgeous!”

I quipped as Hannah Rull and I bumped down the worn, oak tree lined gravel driveway leading up to Starrsville Plantation in Covington, Georgia. Hannah is the owner and founder of Your Best Guest, a wedding and event consultancy, and this day, I was helping her execute what proved to be quite the rehearsal dinner.

The venue was a rustic barn that, from the outside, looked like it hadn’t been touched in hundreds of years, but on the inside, was quaint and clean. String lights, concrete floors, wooden tables and chairs were just about all we started off with. We had just about an hour to transform this…

…into a Tuscan-themed dinner party! Hannah hand-selected all the floral arrangements and garlands, so staging was my main duty there. Tablescaping came next, with each placement consisting of an olive green napkin, a faux-wood plate charger, a mini-menu (designed by Hannah, of course) and a sprig of rosemary. Accenting the garlands and true to theme were small candles, olive oils and a basket of rosemary bread at each table.

Up next: the favors table. The family had purchased 8 different small favors that guests could take home, including a hand-picked Italian herb blend, premium Italian olive oil, the softest cashmere scarves, and custom labelled soaps, water bottles and bags of popcorn!

If the decor and favors haven’t won you over about this rehearsal, the dinner spread certainly will. Six varieties of authentic Italian-stye pizza, salads, lasagne and spaghetti, cannolis and baklava to boot. Oh and who could forget the expansive antipasto board! And lastly, a berries and cream naked chantilly cake was the cherry on top for the night.

Hannah and I worked very hard to pull this dinner off. The clients and family were overjoyed that we were able to bring their vision to fruition beautifully, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves too.

I wish Rebekah and Joey the very best in the newly wed adventures, and hope that the married life treats them splendidly.
